This specialization covers the physics of stars, galaxies and the universe: radiative transfer and stellar spectra, stellar structure, energy generation and evolution, the end states -- white dwarfs, neutron stars and black holes -- the interstellar medium, galactic structure and dynamics, and cosmology from the expanding universe to the microwave background. Expect observational technique across the wavebands and substantial data analysis, since the subject is inferential.
