This specialization covers feeding training and competition: energy requirement estimation and energy availability, carbohydrate, protein and fat periodisation around the training load, recovery nutrition, hydration and electrolyte balance, body composition assessment and its limits, weight-category and weight-making practice and its risks, competition and travel nutrition planning, and appraisal of supplement evidence together with the contamination risk that anti-doping rules place on the athlete.
