This specialization covers the design of outdoor space: site analysis, grading, contouring and surface drainage, planting design and the horticultural knowledge behind it, hardscape materials and detailing, water bodies and irrigation, and the programming of parks, campuses, plazas, streetscapes and residential landscapes. Expect ecological restoration, native and climate-appropriate planting, storm water management and the treatment of landscape as infrastructure rather than decoration.
